FUROBOT Collection
The Furobot collection, a series of contemporary art sculptures by DC-based artist Keng Fu Chu, seamlessly blends pop art aesthetics with a unique personal narrative. Chu's work acts as a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, drawing inspiration from his Taiwanese upbringing and a fascination with Japanese anime, while expressing these influences through a distinctly contemporary, often Western, artistic lens. His creations have garnered international recognition, appearing in publications such as Illustration Now (featuring the top 150 illustrators) and design and art magazines across Taiwan, South Korea, the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Chu's diverse portfolio includes contributions to the children's art book Delirious Dreams (Mexico) and De Fish magazine's "Brand Yourself" project. His work has also been showcased at the 18th Independent Art Festival (Belgium and the Netherlands) and The Creator Studio #6 magazine's "Idols & Myths" project (Spain).
Beyond his personal projects, Chu designed Hackatron, the corporate mascot for MicroStrategy, which will be featured at MicroStrategy World in Orlando and Las Vegas. His art was also selected for inclusion in the documentary An Illustrated World (Venezuela). Keng Fu Chu's artistic contributions continue to captivate and inspire audiences globally.
FU ROBOT Scupltures
The Furobot collection embodies over two decades of Keng Fu's lived experiences and travel memories. These robots, some seated, others standing, transcend the flat plane of digital illustration, taking on vibrant three-dimensional form. They exude a sense of childlike wonder, as if each sculpture holds a story waiting to be told.
The collection features a diverse cast of characters: the Royal Guard robot, adorned with elaborate headgear and brandishing a "Sold Out" sign; the harried single parent Cow Daddy and his mischievous Cow Baby; the playfully contrasting Waterproof and Non-waterproof robots; the regal Robot Prince and the King and Queen emerging from the earth; and even the whimsical Cheese Bouncing Robot and the Savage Ninja, inspired by children's drawings.
Throughout his career, Keng Fu Chu has consistently created art that uses sculpture as a medium for storytelling. Through his unique perspective on the robot world, he conveys his imaginative vision of life and the environment.
